My name is Jenny. Welcome to Dressing Festive! I’ve always had a thing for fashion…especially at holiday time. When I was a kid, I wore jingle bells on my shoes through the holiday season. I wore them around my neck and on my ears. I even had them sewed onto a puffy painted sweatshirt or two. My love of the holidays has roots in the traditions I grew up with and shared with namely my mom, Lois, and my grandpa, Madison. He always bought me a jingle bell each Christmas and is responsible for the nickname that has stuck to this day, "Jingle Bell Jenny".
It took me awhile to fully realize and accept two things about myself:
1. I thoroughly enjoy dressing (and decorating) for almost any festive occasion.
2. I have a keen ability to spot clothing and costumes worn on TV and find and/or emulate the looks with precision and that both of these things are an intense passion and source of joy for me that I love sharing with others.
My love for clothes (both festive and not) grew with age. It stemmed from being an extremely tall and overweight child who desperately searched for things to fit and had to manipulate items so that they would. I’d cut my pants to make them longer, I’d bedazzle my sweatshirts so that they had more rhinestones than any others you could find in a store. I’d monitor what my favorite TV stars were wearing. Blossom and Clarissa, were in my personal Hall of Fame of fashion growing up and I emulated their looks to a tee. They were my generations “influencers.”
So here we are…Dressing Festive is born! I am so excited to share my love for all occasions and to share my ability to replicate and duplicate looks you see on seasonal television such as movies on the Hallmark Channel! What you’ll find unique to my site is that twist of nostalgia to the festive wear, along with a knowledge of those feel-good movies that is second to none. While festive t-shirts are the main focus, you’ll also get to shop my TV finds in my personal boutique where you’ll find second-hand clothing and one-of-a-kind pieces. Kids clothes, women’s clothes, men’s clothes. Every holiday. Every event. I believe in creating joy and being festive no matter the occasion. Thanks for stopping by!
